The Friends and Foundation of the Library Wants YOU… to Volunteer
We’re always looking for fellow volunteers to help with our many projects. From serving on our Board of Directors or a board committee, to fundraising, to sorting donations with the Warehouse Gang, to helping with our book sales and more, volunteers make it all happen.
New Year, New Organization
As of January 2025, the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library will be supported through a single, unified organization: The Friends & Foundation of the Library! By combining forces, the former Friends of the Library and Library Foundation can allocate more resources directly to programs, enhanced collections, and improved facilities.
What Will You Plant in Your Garden This Year?
The library’s “Gearing Up for Gardening” educational series is gearing up again this year. Every Tuesday from noon to 1 pm, starting January 7, patrons are invited to learn about a different aspect of home gardening, such as tool sharpening, composting, and fruit tree pruning.
Monroe Community Library Legacy Fund
One important role the Friends and Foundation plays is to provide major financial support for capital improvements to the Corvallis-Benton County Library facilities. The historic Monroe Community Library building is operated by the Benton County Library district but owned by the Monroe community, so the building is not supported by county taxes.
